It's frustrating when a code you expected to save you money is rejected at the last step. The good news: AliExpress rejects codes for a small, predictable set of reasons, and each has a quick fix. Run down this checklist from top to bottom and you'll almost always find the culprit.

The 5 reasons a code is rejected — and how to fix each
1. Your cart is below the minimum spend
Every code has a threshold — for example, $18 off $99+. If your cart total (before shipping and tax) is even slightly under that number, the code won't apply. Fix: add an eligible item to cross the threshold, or switch to a lower-tier code that matches your current total. Our code lists show the minimum spend on every code.
2. The code has expired
Codes are time-boxed. Summer Sale codes expire June 10, 2026; most global and USA-only codes run to June 30, 2026. Fix: use a code with a current validity window. Every code on XpressCoupon is dated, and we refresh the lists regularly — grab a fresh one from the coupon codes page.
3. It's region-locked to a different country
This is the single most common surprise. A USA-only code applies only to accounts set to the United States with a US shipping address, while global codes work anywhere. Using the wrong region's code triggers a rejection. Fix: match the code to your account — US shoppers can use the USA ladder; everyone else should use global codes.
4. Some items in your cart are ineligible
Certain categories — and some individual sellers — are excluded from platform promo codes. If your cart mixes eligible and excluded items, the code may not count the full total or may be rejected outright. Fix: remove or separately order the excluded items, then re-apply the code to the eligible portion.
5. You've already used the code
Most promo codes are single-use per account. If you redeemed it on an earlier order, it won't work again. Fix: choose a different code. A platform order can still stack a seller coupon and coins even if a one-time platform code is spent.
How to check (and change) your account region
Because region locks cause so many rejections, it's worth confirming your account country:
- Open the AliExpress app or website and go to Account → Settings.
- Find Country/Region and confirm it matches the code you're trying to use.
- Check that your shipping address is in the same country.
- If you change the region, refresh your cart before re-applying the code.
Still not working?
If you've ruled out all five reasons and the code still won't apply, try these last checks:
- Paste, don't retype — a single wrong character (a zero vs the letter O) will fail. Use the Copy button so the code is exact.
- Apply at checkout, not the cart — the promo field appears on the final payment screen.
- Use the official app — some codes behave inconsistently on the mobile web.
- Pick a different tier — if a high code is being stubborn, a slightly lower verified code often applies cleanly.
